This EMU dissolves the dominance just established on the level of shot composition (fixed frame) and sound design (presence of the voices). The duration of the final slightly downward pan is a recognizable deceleration and the replacement of the voices or diegetic speech with music introduces a transition in the staging.

After Todd’s call and the movements of camera and figure (Dane) that follow it, the movement is again paused. The fixed frame is supported by the figure of Dane who fills it with a posture of provocation. This framing therefore only ends with Todd’s departure, a shot of Feingold (repeating the pattern of lines of sight that leave the frame established in EMU 1) and Dane's change of posture. This transition, during which there is twice (first a shot of Dane alone, then of Dane and the Lieutenant) a slight, slow pan and a change of music, makes recognizable the preceding amalgamation of posture (fixed, figuratively balanced frame) and action (decision-making power). translation missing: en.icon_seitenanfang
