In this unit, the staging structure of the first interview (> EMU 1) is taken up and transposed into a comic mode by changing the character constellation from a two-person dialogue into a triangle. The characters disrupt one another and interrupt each other in a faster linguistic rhythm.

The transposition takes place first by prolonging the opening medium long shot and the final medium close shot thus turning them into entries and exits between which a comic sketch develops as an interlude.  Second, these entrances and exits are themselves staged as comic breaks in that the entrance interjects into the orderly procedure with furious movement and incomprehensible cries and the exit itself is interrupted and becomes a chaotic tangle of figures. Third, the middle segment clearly accelerates shot-reverse shot edits as well as the rhythm of the language in comparison to the previous interviews. The film takes on the staging mode of screwball comedy; correspondingly the motivation of the two half-brothers is explained in the dialogue as competition for a woman.
